Founders and identity when a chapter ends

Coming soon6 min readDraft

Building a company over decades quietly mixes identity, work and purpose. What happens to a founder when that chapter closes?

When you build a company for decades, it stops being something you do and becomes part of who you are. When that chapter ends, the identity takes longer to catch up than the calendar does.

This is not a lament. It is an interesting problem, and a surprisingly common one among founders.

This is an idea in progress. The full essay will be published here.
